Dry granule and water-laden gel chunk

Viterra® Planta-gel® is a granular, organic, superabsorbent horticultural hydrogel designed to increase the water holding capacity, drainage, and aeration of soils, sand, soilless, and synthetic growing media. Upon sufficient watering of the growing medium, which has received the proper rate of Viterra® Planta-gel® the special hydrogel granules transform themselves into small water-laden gel "chunks." From that point on, the gel chunks will act as "local water reservoirs." Over a period of time, the water from these reservoirs will be gradually released to the soil and plants as needed, or as the media changes its moisture equilibrium. The use of Viterra® Planta-gel® can prevent root damage caused by lack of oxygen and carbon dioxide build up. Viterra® Planta-gel® improves the aeration and drainage of the growing media and helps produce healthier roots.

Planta-gel® Application Rates and Directions For Greenhouse & Nursery Growers

1.) To obtain maximum improvement of the soil or soilless medium, Viterra® Planta-gel® should be thoroughly mixed into the growing media using any good soil blending techinique. 2.) With high peat content in a soil mix, use lower application rates of Viterra® Planta-gel®, and with high sand content, use higher application rates of Viterra® Planta-gel®.
